Friday 2/11: Coffee + Croissants

Maybe you’re unavailable during the evenings but still want to make it in to our new building. We have the perfect event for you! Before the week is over, join us for Coffee and Croissants at 8:00 AM. Stop in before you start your day, even if its just for a moment! We will have members of our leadership team as well as staff who want to enjoy the space. Consider this a token of our appreciation and a fun end to an eventful week. Thursday 2/10: Happy Hearts Celebration

We have lots of love to go around! This year. we are excited to invite SBC families and students to a Happy Hearts Celebration in our commons. We will be providing shirts and crafts for decoration, learning to make V-Day inspired snacks and mocktails with Chef Dell, and raffling fun prizes. Tuesday 2/8: Family Cooking Class with Chef Dell

Is your New Year’s Resolution to cook more? Ever wanted to take a cooking class but didn’t know where to go? Join us on February 8th, 2022 at 6:00 PM at SBC for a Family Cooking Class with our very own Chef Dell (@dellglover_cateringandevents)! Chef Dell will be teaching us to make pasta, FROM SCRATCH! Come alone or as a family, just make sure you fill out the RSVP below, as spaces are limited to 15 families. We are looking forward to seeing you there.

SBCFCA Elections + Family and Community Week @ SBC!

Dear SBC Families,

It has now been a few months since we transitioned into our forever home at 1110 Washington Avenue! As a school, we are truly eager to make our building a community space, one where families feel just as welcome and celebrated as our students! With this goal in mind, we are very excited to invite you all to a whole week of family events at SBC! Beginning February 7th, we will open our official SBC Family and Community Association Elections to our community. We have also created numerous opportunities for SBC families to join us in our wonderful new building and get back to the bonding we have missed out on in past years. Please check our Updates page for specific event information and be sure to RSVP for any one that interests you! We can’t wait to see you all soon.

Monday 2/7: SBC Family and Community Association Q+A

Beginning on February 7th, we will open SBCFCA elections to our SBC families. During the month of January, we received several nominations from staff and families alike. If you were nominated, please see the email from Jeannette.Bautista@southbronxcommunity.org with the subject line “YOU’VE BEEN NOMINATED – South Bronx Community Charter HS”. If you were not nominated, but have more questions regarding the SBCFCA, please also feel free to join us! This event will be held virtually at 5:30 PM on Monday, February 7th, 2022. RSVP below!
